Church Notes: built ca. 1620; replaced in 1919 by a new church (funded by Norwegian emigrants in America); the old church still holds two services a year, both in summer
Baptismal font in the old parish church at Årdal; it appears to be made of painted wood; the upper volume, or basin (although the basin proper is one of metal supported by the wooden structure) is roudn and moulded; the body below is also round, splaying slightly towards the bottom, the sides decorated with a wide fluted pattern, the lower base with a very tight thin one; on a square block.
