[NB: a medieval font in "Templeuve" is mentioned in conjunction with those at Gondecourt, Nordpene and Genech -- not known whether this Templeuve or the one in Hainaut, Belgium]. Pol Herman [e-mail of 25 October 2021 to BSI] notes: "There is also a village called TEMPLEUVE in the North of France, sometimes called Templeuve-en-Pévèle. About this village, I find the following information : LES ACTES DE FONDATION DE PAROISSE DANS LE NORD DE LA FRANCE AUX XIIE-XIIIE SIÈCLES Éd. Ch. BONNIER, Templeuve-en-Pévèle. Histoire d’un village (Liverpool, 1907, P. J. n° VII; 1er-14 avril 1229): Gautier, évêque de Tournai, notifie que des habitants de Templeuve demeurant au village où se trouve la chapelle de Saint-Nicolas, ont demandé d’avoir leur propre prêtre; après enquête, il y consent; Anchin n’aura rien à payer pour le chancel et la soignie; le prêtre aura une dotation d’un muid de blé et de 2 rasières de pois sur la part de Templeuve et la même proportion de menues dîmes et oblations; il y aura cimetière et fonts; les témoins synodaux iront à Templeuve lors des visites de l’archidiacre et du doyen."
