Scene Description: the interior of the modern church re-built mid-20thC -- Source caption: "Reykjahlíðarkirkja er í Skútustaðaprestakalli í Þingeyjarprófastsdæmi. Reykjahlíð var bær og kirkjustaður en nú smáþorp og mikill ferðamannastaður við Mývatn norðaustanvert. Kirkjan, sem nú stendur, var byggð 1958-1962. Hún tekur 120 manns í sæti. Skírnarsá, sem Jóhannes Björnsson á Húsavík skar út auk myndskurðar á prédikunarstólnum. Batikmyndirnar í kórnum eru eftir Sigrúnu Jónsdóttur."

[NB: we have no information on the whereabouts of the font of the original church here; the present font is modern the work of artist Jóhannes Björnsson, from Húsavík].
