Baptismal font listed and illustrated in Danmarks Kirker (Præstø Amt VI, bind 2 (1933-35): 219) [http://danmarkskirker.natmus.dk/uploads/tx_tcchurchsearch/Praestoe_0203-0227.pdf] [accessed 3 September 2016], with date ca. 1625; the cylindrical basin is decorated with three carved panels: Circumcision, Baptism of Christ, and the 'Let the children come to me' scene [Luke 18:16, Matthew 19:14, Mark 10:13)]; pedestal base with volutes and mouldings; lower base made of wood. The font is painted and gilded; the carved scenes show traces of polychrome application but is now mostly white. No font cover present; baptismal dish by Christen Jensen, 1721. On-site notes: only about half of the roughly cylindrical basin is carved, leaving the other half undone or unfinished, which may suggest a re-carving of an earlier basin that was totally plain; the font appears to be made of sandstone, but the carvings could be limestone [the notice outside the church suggests that]; there is evidence of cover hardware on the upper rim. The three scenes run L->R in the order described above.
