[NB: searched Palissy and Mémoire but did not find this object listed there] A rectangular stone vessel resembling a small sarcophage, raised on two rectangular stones; it appears to be a composite object, perhaps a former sarcophage re-cycled as baptismal font; the front side is divided into three panels; in the left is a bird shown in profile, facing left and picking at (?) a plant (?), the background a pattern of squares; the centre panel has two round human (?) faces framed in a U/Y shaped motif; the left panel, much damaged, has what appears to be a head in profile. The present baptismal font in this church is listed in Palissy [ref.: IM09003904] and illustrated in Mémoire [ref.: IVR73_20140902124], a 18th-century font of grey marble consisting of a roughly hemispherical basin on a plain slender pedestal base of cylindrical shape; round, flat and plain wooden cover. This font is kept in an early 18th-century wooden enclosure listed in Palissy [ref.: IM09003291]: "clôture des fonts baptismaux [...] Edicule adossé au mur à trois pans renfermant les fonts baptismaux". Palissy [ref.: IM09003937] lists also a wooden 18th-century "bénitier d'applique [...] doré à la feuille" in this church.
