Church Notes: Santa Maria is first documented 1070, but may have existed earlier [a document dated 1061 is believed to be false] -- According to Oliván Baile (1974: 122ff), the church is all that remains from the old monastery founded in the late-11thC in the time of countess Doña Sancha, sister to the king of Aragon and great protrectress of the monastery where she was buried at her death.

Baptismal font consisting of a polygonal, almost round, tapering basin with tapering sides; plain; raised on two square blocks which appear not to be original; there is evidence of damaged caused to the upper rim by former anchoring hardware of an old cover.
