There must have been a 13th-century church here with a font, as indicated by the fact that, according to tome 18 [2nd series, vol. 8] of the 1861 Mémoires de la Société des antiquaires de Picardie, issued by the Société des antiquaires de Picardie (p. 178-179), "La cure de Friville rendait à l'éveque, au XIIIe siècle 10 livres"; the same source quotes records in the episcopal archives which attest that Friville, together with Escarbotin, earned the diocese "1000 livres de revenue" in 1736. [NB: we have no information on te font of the 13th-century church here)
