Font Notes:
A baptismal font described as having been found by an old priest in a garden is reported in Railliet (1964) who cites his source as "H. Manceau, Automobilisme Ardennais no.82}. Baptismal font of bluish limeastone [cf. infra] consisting of a roughly hemispherical basin decorated with four human heads at 90-degree angles, and crudely rendered animals on the sides between; raised on a crude cylindrical pedestal base which may or may not have the original. Flat and round wooden cover; appears modern. Listed and illustrated in Palissy [ref.: PM08000416]: "Cuve cylindrique [pierre bleue de Givet], cantonnée de quatre têtes d'angle de type cylindrique. Les quatre faces sont ornées de motifs zoomorphes, bipèdes et quadrupèdes [...] 12e siècle".
