We found no individual entry for Brinkley in the Domesday survey. The entry for this church in English Heritage [Listing NGR: TL6294854831] (1951) reports a modern font here. The Victoria County History (Cambridge..., vol. 6, 1978) notes: "A church was recorded at Brinkley in the late 12th century when it was among those granted by William de Mohun to the canons of Bruton (Som.) [...] The much rebuilt chancel dates from the 13th century [...] In 1874–5 the church was extensively restored"; no font mentioned in the VCH entry. The present font, octagonal basin and base, is modern.
