The present font is described and illustrated in Richesses en Somme [www.richesses-en-somme.com/patrimoine-des-églises/fonts-baptismaux/fonts-baptismaux-insolites/] [accessed 9 May 2016]: "Les fonts baptismaux possèdent un beau couvercle en bois qui repose sur une cuve dont on a dissimulé l’état par un cerclage de bois peint d’une couleur inappropriée. Le bois du pied mouluré, accompagné de supports galbés, semble différent de celui du couvercle [...] 17e/18e s." This present font may be a composite object; the outer cylindrical wooden basin may enclose an inner one; the base consists of a turned stem with three (?) detached scroll ribs. The cover itself is also rather odd, a plain flat circular platform with a square dome resembling the shape of an old chimney. [NB: we have no information on the font of the original 16th-century church here].
