There is a watercolour executed by Oswald Macqueron on October 7, 1863 in the Archives et Bibliothèque patrimoniale d’Abbeville, Hal. 16 [https://patrimoine.abbeville.fr/en/records/item/33034-a-fonts-baptismaux-dans-l-eglise-de-bailleul-aquarelle-d-oswald-macqueron-d-apres-nature-7-octobre-1863-b-croix-en-tuf-dans-le-cimetiere-de-bailleul-aquarelle-d-oswald-macqueron-d-apres-nature-24-septembre-1864?offset=3] [accessed 10 October 2025]; The image shows the former octagonal foliated capital re-purposed as font, with a wooden rim-buffet cover on it; the cover has vertical panelled sides and a pyramidal upper end topped with a Latin-cross finial. [NB: later sources don not show the old cover]. The re-purposed capital font itself, but not the cover, is illustrated in Brutail's La Picardie historique et monumentale (T. III, 1e partie, p. 121); it shows the octagonal basin with the foliated underbowl, the plain cylindrical pedestal base and the round-to-square lower base. The font is listed in Palissy [ref.: PM80000277]: "Ces fonts baptismaux sont formés d'un chapiteau [...] Polygonal moulded top with on pedestal with foliated top. The French Wikipedia entry for this church [https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Église_Saint-Martin_de_Bailleul_(Somme)] [accessed 10 October 2025]
reports a former 14th-century capital re-purposed as baptismal font in it: "L'église conserve des fonts baptismaux du XIVe siècle, creusés dans un chapiteau".
