The entry for this church in SIPA [ref.: IPA.00001123] [www.monumentos.pt] [accessed 3 April 2016] notes: "A ladear o guarda-vento, do lado do Evangelho, encontra-se baptistério definida por supedâneo rectangular, com pia baptismal de taça gomada, assente em plinto bojudo. Do lado oposto encontra-se pia de água-benta." The present font, made of granite,consists of a vase-shaped basin, round with a broad upper rim, and a estylised ribbed patterna on the sides and underbowl; raised on a round baluster-shaped pedestal base with a pattern of round arches at its lower end. Wooden cover consisting of a round paltform with graded mouldings, with a large fleuron finial.
