Noted in Fichot (1884). Enlart (1902, p. 783 footnote 3) mentions an extant copper stoup in this town. Lasteyrie (1926-1927), after Fichot, mentions it as a 16th-century metal stoup. There are actually two metal stoups in this church [cf. Saint Leger pres Troyes No. 2 for the cast iron stoup; No. 1 for the baptismal font]. A quadrangular stoup of the 16th century made of bronze, not copper, is listed in Palissy [ref.: PM10001977]: "bénitier [...] bronze [...] Armoiries de la famille des Marisy : d'azur à 6 mâcles d'or placées 3, 2 et 1 [...] 16e siècle". The stoup appears to be pentagonal, decorated with several pronounced moldings, with incised coats of arms between two of the mouldings; appears to be nailed to a wooden vertical back.
