The Equipe Club Archéo et Patrimoine, Rodez [http://archeo.mjcrodez.com/2011/04/chapelle-saint-laurent-commune-salles-la-source/] [accessed 20 March 2016] refers to a 27 May 1507 "visite de l’évêque François d’Estaing à l’église Saint Laurent" related to a bloody fight inside the church which resulted in it being declared polluted and therefore in need of reconciliation, hence the episcopal visit. The ensuing report noting irregularities in need of a fix in this church is quoted to an entry in the Revue historique du Rouergue (15 janvier 1920, 7ème année Tome 3. Sociétés et Lettres). A later report of 1741 is also quoted from in the Equipe Club Archéo et Patrimoine (ibid.) and the report indicates that this church covered the parochial needs of eleben houses around it (Visites pastorales de l’évêque 17 s 18 s, SERIE G 118 Fol 229, Archives départementales Fol 229 Visite de St Laurent). [NB: we have no information on the font of the original church here].
