Scene Description: Source caption: "Parish church of All Saints, Wandsworth. A grade II* listed church on Wandsworth High Street. Like many parish churches it has been much altered over the years: the nave is largely 18th century and the overall appearance inside is Georgian, though with a chancel from around 1900."

There are two entries for Wandsworth [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://opendomesday.org/place/TQ2575/wandsworth/] [accessed 14 March 2016], neither of which mentions cleric or church in it. The Victoria County History (Surrey, vol. 4, 1912) notes: "It has been supposed that the parish church dates from before the Norman Conquest. [...] It seems to have belonged to Westminster Abbey with that part of Wandsworth which was included in the manor of Battersea, [...] but no record of it earlier than the second half of the 12th century survives. [...] With the exception of the north aisle and tower the church was entirely rebuilt in 1779–80"; no font is mentioned in the VCH entry. The present font is modern.
