Noted in Agt's 'Zuid-Limburg. Vaals, Wittem en Slenaken' (Den Haag: Staatsuitgeverij,1983: 321) as a baptismal font dated by an inscription on the rim. Noted and illustrated in Kerkgebouwen in Limburg [www.kerkgebouwen-in-limburg.nl/kerken/wahlwiller/cunibertus] [accessed 6 February 2016] as a baptismal font of 1628. The font consists of a roughly hemispherical basin with a single roll moulding and an inscribed date in the upper rim area, raised on a round pedestal base with a single moulding atop, circular lower base and plinth. Dome font cover of metal [copper?] with orb-and-cross finial; the cover has a latch that is locked to the side of the basin; appears modern. The font is built into an narrow alcove, the upper part of which is a niche painted with a Baptism of Christ in the Jordan scene.
