There is a font-like object excavated in the rock beneath the flooring at the former Benedictine convent in Säben / Sabiona; the outer perimeter is square, the inner basin is round, shallow and irregular. It is located inside the present Marienkirche, behind the altar. One source, Solker Bierbrauer / Hans Nothdurfter: Die Ausgrabungen im spätantik-frühmittelalterlichen Bischofssitz Sabiona – Säben I. Die spätantik-frühmittelalterliche Kirche und das Gräberfeld. Münchner Beiträge zur Vor- und Frühgeschichte (March 2006) [11_Bierbrauer.pdf] [accessed 21 March 2023] claims it to be a baptismal piscina in the Frühchristliche kirche (5th-7th century?) excavated between 1978 and 1982 within what later became the Benedictine nunnery complex of Marienkirche, in the Kloster Säben / Monastero di Sabiona / Abbazia di Sabiona.
