An entry for Soest in the DBNL [ww.dbnl.org/tekst/sten009monu01_01/sten009monu01_01_0069.php] [accessed 23 January 2016] reports the font at Soest Reformed church as being originally from Nigtevecht [source: Ronald Stenvert, Chris Kolman, Ben Olde Meierink, Margreet Tholens, Ben Kooij en Ronald Rommes, Monumenten in Nederland. Utrecht. Rijksdienst voor de Monumentenzorg, Zeist / Waanders Uitgevers, Zwolle 1996]. The font appears indeed to be the one described in Ortt van Schonauwen ca. 1858 as having been originally from Nigtevecht, later moved to the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, from where it was sent on loan to the Reformed church at Soest, Utrecht; the original base, reported in situ at Nigtevecht by OvS (ibid.) as being of the same Bentheim stone as the basin, is no longer accounted for; instead the old basin is mounted on a plain pedestal base and a lower base of the same shape with a single moulding atop].
