Church Notes: medieval church demolished; present church 1856-1861
An ancient font is displayed in the Uden Veghelsedijk 25, 5401 AZ Uden, Netherlands; it consists of an octagonal basin with four human heads at 90-degree angles, with a flat moulding at the upper rim all around; the underbowl is curved; there is damage to one side at the upper rim and the opposite side has a hole in the rim, both consistent with the use of on old font cover; the basin is raised on a plain octagonal pedestal base. The stone appears to be the characteristic limestone of the Mosan fonts. [cf. Index entry for Uden for the medieval font of that church].
