Eyck (1846) reports of a basin of a baptismal font unearthed from the ground of St. Joriskerk in Amersfoort; the octagonal stone basin is decorated with four human heads. The Parish web site [www.sintjoriskerk-amersfoort.nl/sintjoriskerk-amersfoort.html] [accessed 29 December 2015] notes that the font was originally at the west side of the church, as was usual. The Rijksmonumenten.nl site [http://rijksmonumenten.nl/monument/7882/sint-joriskerk/amersfoort/] [accessed 29 December 2015] reports a Romanesque baptismal font with a replacement base of 1762
