Described and illustrated in Eyck (1846) with date in the 11th century. Noted with measurements in Ligtenberg (1915). Listed as Gothic in the Monumentenregister [Monumentnummer : 38072] of the Rijksdienst voor het Cultureel Erfgoed, Netherlands. The Terwolde font consists of a cylindrical basin with a broad flat moulding at the upper rim, and thin groovenear the bottom of the basin; on a plain cylindrical pedestal base and a splaying circular lower base decorated with a moulding. [NB: Eyck's early dating [cf. supra] is given also to the fonts at Almen, Beekbergen and Ermeloo].
