Noted and illustrated in Ligtenberg (1915) as a baptismal font of Namur limestone; the author gives measurements of the basin and informs that the stem and base are a later replacement. Not mentioned in Drake (2002). The font, which was at the 19th-century church until the construction of the new one in the mid 1960s, consists of an octagonal basin with a human head protruding at 90 degree angles on each of four of the sides, a single flat moulding at the upper rim; plain underbowl chamfer; raised on a plain octagonal pedestal base [cf. supra]. Metal (brass) font cover of low-dome shape, with orb-and-cross finial; 19th-century(?). The old font and its metal cover are located inside the new H.Catharinakerk Montfort (Roerdalen), in a sunken octagonal baptistery off the nave; no lower base in view.
