Noted and illustrated in Schulte (1986) [www.dbnl.org/tekst/schu211land02_01/schu211land02_01_0007.php#180] [accessed 9 December 2015]: "In de collectie van museum ‘Commanderie van Sint Jan’ in Nijmegen bevindt zich een sculptuurfragment, dat afkomstig heet te zijn uit Horssen (afb. 147). Het is een kuipfragment van een romaanse doopvont waarop een naar rechts lopende gestileerde leeuw is afgebeeld, begrensd door een rechte omlijsting en een gestileerd leliemotief". The fragment appears to be a little smaller than a full side of a round basin that could very well have had heads on it, as the top right hand corner suggests; framed at top and bottom by flat mouldings, the right side appears to be a thin pillar or piping, whereas the left is broken off; the main motifs is a lion passant to the right, its tail over its haunches, in the typical pose; at the extreme left is a plant or tree, part of the trunk and two large leaves still visible. The fragment is said to be originally from Horssen.
