Noted in Drake (2002) as a baptismal font of the "Bentheim School, Group A2, modified cylinder", a group in which this author includes the fonts at Bersenbrück, Büttel, Emsbüren, Enschede, Epe, Ermelo, Gimpte, Herzlake, Holtland, Ochtrup, Ostönnen, Otterloo, Ueffeln. A medieval font in this village is reported in StadtM [https://stadtm.de/Loxstedt/listing/buettel-2/] [accessed 3 October 2025] : "Der Taufstein ist auf das Mittelalter zurückzuführen". [NB: the baptismal font which is partially visible to the left of the altar in a 23 April 2022 digital photograph by ClausNe in Wikimedia [https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Kirche_Büttel_01.jpg] [accessed 3 October 2025] does not appear to be a Bentheim font -- is it a later font?]
