A brass baptismal dish (?) here said to be 17th-century. The stone base of the pulpit is said to be a re-cycled 15th-16th-century font. It must have been removed from the pulpit at some recent point, as the photographs in the ImagesArea show. [NB: an octagonal basin of a stone baptismal font being used as cooling vat in a forge at the time; it is now known that this basin came from the disappeared church/chapel of St John the Baptist, also in Eck [cf. BSI entry for Wiel for an explanation and details]
