Baptismal font of Benthein sandstone consisting of a slightly tapering round basin made of Bentheim sandstone; its design matches the classification assigned in Drake (2002) as "Bentheim School; Type Sögel I, Sögel", which includes fonts at Damme, Greetsiel, Grimersum, Kantens, Rijsen, Sleen, Sögel, Thuine and Uphusen. The decoration has, from top down, a double roll-moulding, a vine of arcaded foliage, a single roll-moulding, a scrolling vine below and an eroded roll-moulding at tghe lower end of the basin; there appears to be some damage to the underbowl; the round-to-square base appears to be designed for a much lareger basin, and may not have been the original; it has a round platform atop, the sides a very large moulding, and a smaller roll-moulding below; the sides of the base are damaged and it is now difficult to discern the lions (?) at the corners, two of which have been broken off. There is no cover present now; a metal baptismal dish sits atop the basin.
