There are a number of objects in the 'baptistery' of this church, a glorified name for the southwest corner of the nave enclosed now in a metal cage that would have been better suited to contain wild beasts; it is very unlikely that none of these assorted objects which add up to a small lapidarium are the original font of this church, as they all seem to be composite arrangements of unrelated stones. The 'font' consists of a bucket-shaped vessel made of granite (?), its only decorations a moulding around the damaged upper rim and a graded moulding on the protruding base, which is also part of the same block; this basin has been raised on a quadrangular pedestal chamfered at the angles and decorated with large carved Latin crosses on the sides. There is a plain makeshift cover on the basin Located just outside the metal cage is one other composite object consisting of a plain octagonal basin with vertical sides, raised on a quadrangular pedestal base carved with a large Latin cross on the front; unlike the base of the font inside the cage, this base could be a medieval object. It is not clear how these objects came together, a poor baptismal presence in such a magnificent church.
