Noted and illustrated in Palissy [ref.: PM22000751]: "bénitier [...] pierre [...] h = 80 ; d = 60 [...] 15e siècle". [holy-water stoup of the 15th century decorated with naked atlante figures; the upper rim of the basin has deep notches made by the sharpening of farm tools on it, a Breton custom to assure better crops -- using coarse granite to sharpen tools?]. NB: since the present parish church here is 17th-century, it is possible the stoup may have come from one of the several disappeared chapels in or around Pléboulle (Saint-Jean, Calan, la Reignerais, Montbran, etc.), some of which had sacramental rights. The shape of the basin is not well-defined, sort of squaris with rounded abgles, raised on a short circular pedestal base; the upper rim much notched, as indicated above; the squatting figures very crudely rendered.
