Church Notes: originally 12thC parish church; first documented 1304; burned down 1380; became parish church for German-speaking community in Copenhagen in 1585; damaged by fire 1728
The present font in this church dates from 1830; it is made of bronze and consists of a round basin decorated with a patterned upper rim, and cherub heads on the sides; round-to-triangular pedestal base patterned in foliage; lower base ending in three claws; triangular plinth. [NB: we have no information on the font of the original 12thC church here; it was probably destroyed in one of the two major fires that damaged the church in 1380 and 1728].
