Font Notes:
The entry for this church in Reliwiki [https://reliwiki.nl/index.php/Maastricht,_Keizer_Karelplein_6_-_Basiliek_St._Servaas] [accessed 30 December 2021] notes and illustrates a "koperen doopvont XV". Metal baptismal font made of metal [bronze? or brass?], consisting of a round basin slightly tapering towards the bottom and a rounded underbowl; plain, except for a moulding at the upper rim; raised on a slender pedestal base, round with multiple mouldings; the lower base has a polygonal [hexagonal?] top but the splaying volume is round with a single moulding. Metal font cover of 1906 (?) has a round domed platform bearing an 'In memoriam' inscription around the lower rim side; above this rises a two-stage canopy of neo-Gothic open-work with flying buttresses, crocketed pinnacles, etc.; a female pelican feeding her young from the blood from her chest serves as finial. A wall-mounted crane allows for the lateral movement of the cover.
