Font Notes:
Noted and illustrated in BALaT KIK-IRPA [http://balat.kikirpa.be/photo.php?path=M040578&objnr=10036830&nr=37] [accessed 28 October 2015] as a baptismal font made of limestone, with date 1501-1600. This source includes a copper font cover (54 cm) but gives no date for it; it is inscribed and appears modern. The font is made of the blue-ish limestone common in this region; it consists of an octagonal basin with a double moulding at the upper rim and a rounded underbowl; one of the sides of the basin, the one facing west in 2007, has a blank shield on it; the pedestal and lower base are octagonal with multiple mouldings. The present [2007] location of the font is at the west end of the nave, but earlier photographs (1945 and 1968) show it at two different locations; in 1945 it appears by abbé Norbert Durieu's 1812 funeral monument, beneath the round arch dated 11th-century in BALaT KIK-IRPA [cf. supra], in the east side; in 1968 it appears located at the west end of the nave, against the north side of the tower arch, near the west entranceway; a stone holy-water stoup of unknown date is wall-mounted on the opposite side.
