No individual entry for Hindhead found in the Domesdat survey. The entry for this church in Historic England [List Entry Number: 1272333] reports a modern font in this modern church: "Massive stone font at west end of nave: square bowl with blind arcading to sides, supported on four marble columns." The baptismal font in this modern church may be of interest only because it is a design brought back from the 12th century with the deformations [exagerated symbols, use of coloured marbles, etc.) introduced by the Victorians. [NB: we have not found record or evdidence of an early church here, the earliest being a temporary 'mission church' in 1904].
