Baptismal font located at the east end of the south aisle; the large stone barrel-like font is totally plain; the inside of the basin is cylindrical in shape and has a drain [now plugged] totally off centre, practically at the angle with one of the sides. There is no cover nor is there any indication of having had any hardware anchoring spots at the upper rim or sides. The church has an ancient holy-water stoup near the south entranceway [cf. Index entry for Ruffec No. 4]. [NB: Ruffec Saint-André had two chapels-of-ease, Saint-Benoît aka Saint-Blaise, in the faubourg of Pontereau, the ruins of which are still visible, and Saint-Georges, to the west; they were merged with Saint-André in the 15thC [cf. Index entries for Ruffec Nos. 2-3] -- we have no information on the baptismal fonts from those two churches].
