An object located now in the Passeig Arqueològic that surrounds the old town centre; it appears monolithic but of two well marked volumes: a roughly hemispherical basin decorated on the outside by broad irregular ribs, while the inside is carved in much thinner concave ribs [NB: the inside has now been adapted to its use as decorative fountain]; the lower volume is octagonal, with a moulding at the upper end, and vertical piping that divides the [eight?] sides into panels; the panels include a number of motifs or symbols: a saltire cross, a whet sheaf, a rose in a circle, a floral symbol with two encircled stars (?), and one other in which the symbol is a lilly; one or several of the remaining panels appear blank, or totally eroded. There is much damage to the upper rim area, and there is at least one hole in the side, probably made to provide a drain for the fountain. It is a very crude and irregular work, which also makes the dating uncertain, but one should consider some of the later symbols on the base which resemble the decoration on some of the ceramic fonts of the late-15th and early-16th century made in southern Spain.
