There is an entry for this Rolleston [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://opendomesday.org/place/SK7300/rolleston/] [accessed 2 October 2015], but it mentions neither cleric not church in it. English Heritage [Listing NGR: SK7325400410] (1966) reports a baptismal font of the 13th century, and a piscina of the same date, in this church. Plain octagonal basin on a plain octagonal pedestal base and lower base of the same shape.
