The details below are from a web site set up by (?) Christian Schröder [www.reiterhof-4eichen.de/Kirche.html] [accessed 2 August 2015]; it uses text and images from Kunstdenkmale der Provinz Sachsen, Band 3, Stendal Land, pp. 125-127. Kunstdenkmale... gives the following details of the font: date 12thC; granit; height 88 cm; diameter 104 cm.; location: in front of the church. Kunstdenkmale (ibid.) also mention a Baroque "Taufengel" in this church [cf. infra]. Monolithic baptismal font of roughly barrel shape in this church. An article in the Altmärkischer Hausfreund (v. 1931) shows the monolithic font located outside the church at the time; another photograph in the same source shows the lower part of the font being 'trimmed' [see Images area] by having its broken or irregular base chopped off; it was later moved to an alcove off the nave in 1965. There is no font cover present; there is a metal shelf that is inserted to support the baptismal dish. There is a 'flying' angel holding a baptismal dish (?) inside the church, suspended from the ceiling.
