There are two entries for Bruntingthorpe [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://opendomesday.org/place/SP6089/bruntingthorpe/] [accessed 30 July 2015], neither of which mentions cleric or church in it. A font in Bruntingthorpe is mentioned in the index of Archaeologia (vol. X: 189), but it appears to be missing from the text. The English Heritage entry [Listing NGR: SP6007589769] (1955) reports: "C12 or C13 font, a circular basin with 2 moulded horizontal ribs, on modern base.
