Font Notes:
No entry for this Drayton found in the Domesday survey. The Victoria County History (Leicestershire, vol. 5, 1964) notes: "The church of ST. JAMES stands on the green in Drayton. It is a single room built of stone and roofed with slate, constructed on the site of the former chapel in 1878–9 by G. L. Watson. [...] The former chapel had been converted into a bake-house by 1794. An illustration of this date shows that it consisted of nave and chancel. A large semi-circular arch internally suggests that it was of 12th-century origin". [NB: we have no information on the font from the original chapel here].
