There are two entries for Brooksby [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://opendomesday.org/place/SK6716/brooksby/] [accessed 28 July 2015], neither of which mentions cleric or church in it. The present font consists of an octagonal basin with plain vertical sides and a chamfered underbowl, raised on a plain octagonal pedestal and a splaying lower base, also octagonal and plain. Wooden cover, octagonal and flat, with metal decoration and ring handle; appears modern.
