There is an entry for Walton[-on-the-Wolds] [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://opendomesday.org/place/SK5919/walton-on-the-wolds/] [accessed 24 July 2015] but it mentions neither cleric nor church in it. The original early-13th century church was dedicated to St. Batholomew; it became ruinous and decayed and was demolished; present church built in 1739; baptismal records go back to 1566. [NB: we ghave no information on the font of the original church here].
