Noted and illustrated in Steensma (1998), who dates it to the late-15th century; kept in the Fries Museum between 1883 and 1950. Steensma (ibid.) identifies the following: Agnus Dei wears cruciferous halo, carries staff and banner, bleeds into a chalice; St. Peter with one key; St. Paul with a sword. The font is rather unique in this area for the decorative treatment; the eight basin sides are decorated with a variety of figures, symbols, motifs, etc.: 1)St. Peter with a key; 2.) pair of trefoiled arches/windows; 3)pelican feeding its chicks its own blood; 4)double window with torsade column; 5)haloed Agnus Dei with banner bleeding into chalice; 6)floral motif in cusped quatrefoil; 7)St. Paul with sword; 8)pair of arches/windows; the underbowl and upper base are decorated with very large leaves; the lower base has four male figures at alternating sides of the octagon, as if supporting the weight of the font; the area of the upper basin sides is very damaged, with a good part of it missing. The font has been placed near the choir stalls designated for men. A metal basin or insert in the basin is in use now.
