A communication from Pol Herman (e-mail of 13 November 2021) mentions three somewhat similar baptismal fonts at Rochefort (Belgium), Ammerstol (Netherlands) and Souppes-sur-Loing (France). Baptismal font consisting of a small hemispherical basin decorated with twelve (?) standing hieratic figures around the basin; some of the figures hold a book in both hands, others hold a book or their garment with the left hand while the right is palm out; the figures look all male, some bearded, some not; the pedestal base is a fairly slender round shaft with torsade pattern; the base is round-to-square, with two roll mouldings atop. The basin and base are an ill match, and the original base was probably broader than the present. [NB: the 'mismatching may be due to the positioning of the parts in the old photographs -- the font appears identical to the other two mentioned above]. A further communication from Pol Herman (e-mail to BSI of 27 November 2021) informs of a very similar holy water font that was recently sold at auction for 2.000 Euro [http://www.brissonneau.net/lot/15628/2812935?npp=150&] [accessed 22 August 2022]: "BÉNITIER en pierre de style Roman. Les douze apôtres sont représentés en haut relief sur la panse. Leurs costumes sont semblables mais leurs mains sont toutes en postures différentes et tiennent une bible. Traces de concrétions dans la cuve. Diam: 50cm. H: 30cm. On y joint un socle en pierre qui pourrait être un chapiteau et un morceau de colonne torsadée."
