No mention of Broadstone found in the Domesday survey. The Victoria County History (Shropshire, vol. 10, 1998) notes: "B[roadstone] chapel was mentioned in 1589, but the plain round-headed south doorway suggests a medieval origin. In 1589, as later, it was reckoned a chapel of ease to Munslow. It was endowed with a house and curtilage, 1 yardland of arable, and 1 a. of wood at Stanway, [...] but no record of a chaplain is known. In 1716 the only services there were Christmas and Easter communions [...] Broadstone remained little used in the early 19th century, [...] but services were more regular after the chapel's refurbishment in 1842–4. [...] In 1793 the single-cell, three bayed stone chapel, entered by a round-headed south door, was lit by several small unglazed windows. The nave, earth-floored, had no seats except a stone wall bench. In the south-east corner was a carved 'tub or pulpit'. The chancel, floored with pebbles, had a communion table, [...] probably the 17th-century one there in 1990. [...] On Census Sunday 1851 all 70 free seats were occupied for the monthly service. [...] There was a monthly service in 1990." There is no mention of a font in the English Heritage entry for this church [Listing NGR: SO5446589784] (2000).
