The listing for this church in Mérimée [ref.: IA67007197] notes: "En 1924, fut découvert dans l'ancien cimetière une cuve baptismale romane en grès sculpté, datant probablement des années 1180, qui fut déposée au Musée de l'Oeuvre Notre-Dame de Strasbourg. Cette oeuvre atteste de l'existence d'une église paroissiale dès le 12e siècle." Tub-shaped basin of an ancient baptismal font said to be originally from Ittenheim [cf. supra], just 10 km west of Strasbourg; now at the MOND, Strasbourg. The round tapering basin appears to have had an arcade of very wide round arches all around, al blind except the one which contains a bearded male figure standing and holding a club.
