Noted and illustrated in KIK-IRPA, Brussels (Belgium) as the basin of a Romanesque baptismal font made of limestone between 1101 and 1200, originally from the Eglise Saints-Pierre et Paul[Othée]; Othée, located in the Musée d'art religieux et d'art mosan, in Liège [cat. Puraye n° 590].
Catalogued and illustrated in Ghislain (2009) as the surving basin of a baptismal font of the Namurois group, filiation Furneaux, made of limestone (calcaire de Meuse) ca. 1150-1155; the round basin is decorated with the four symbols of the Evangelists at 90-degree angles on the basin sides; the basin underbowl shows that the font was designed originally to be supported on five columns, a broad central shaft and four angle colonnettes; Ghislain (ibid.) remarks detail similarities with the fonts at Guttecoven, Straelen, Neerhespen, Fairon and Saint-Séverin-en-Condroz; a hole was drilled in one of the sides of the font, which is often an indication of the alternative use as water-trough in abandoned fonts. The baptismal font in use in this church is mid-18th century, a round moulded basin raised on a round baluster-type pedestal base; dome metal cover with ball finial/handle.
