Stone basin of a baptismal font of the Mosan type exhibited at Le Grand Curtius museum next to the font inventoried in this Index as Huy No. 1 [cf. Index entry] [NB: although the font appears to be of the "Namurois, filiation de Beauvechain" group (Ghislain, 2009), we were not able to identify it in Ghislain catalogue]. The bains is round with the characteristic protruding heads at 90-degree angles; the four appear to be male, one perhaps with a hair-band; they show the characteristic partion of the hair noted in Ghislain (2009); between the heads runs a blind arcade of round arches supported on columns with capitals and bases with foliage motifs in the spandrels; the upper rim lacks any discernible decoration but has at least one drilled hole with lead filling that must have been an anchorage spot for an iold font cover. The base and lower base obviously lost. Not unlike the basin of the font from Bléhen, also in the Grand Curtius museum. [NB: the source does not have the museum inventory number -- to be completed]
