Scene Description: the present font -- Source caption: "No its not an optical illusion. The font is sinking. We are still brainstorming how we are going to move it. It is solid stone and is a survivor of the 1843 earthquake, an account of which can be read here (http://www.stjohnthedivineantigua.com/history.htm) [NB: blind reference]. One thing is for sure, when we move it, we wont move it far."

The present font in this cathedral church appears to be relatively modern, perhaps from the 1746 re-building, as it is said to have survived the earthquake of February 1843. [NB: we have no information on the font of the original 1681 church here].
