There are two entries for [East and West] Chelborough [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://domesdaymap.co.uk/place/XX0000/east-and-west-chelborough/] [accessed 21 February 2015], but neither mentions cleric or church in it. English Heritage [Listing NGR: ST5589707557] (1966) reports: "Parish Church. C12 core, with C16 fenestration and C18 alterations. [...] Font: stone, with bulbous octagonal stem and bowl, C18." [NB: we have no information on the font of the original 12th-century church here].
