Harbury / Edburberie / Erburberie / Erburgeberie

There are five entries for Harbury [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://domesdaymap.co.uk/place/SP3759/harbury/] [accessed 27 January 2015], one of which, in the lordship of William Bonvallet, mentions a priest, but not a church though there probably was one there. The Victoria County History (Warwick, vol. 6, 1951) notes: "The church was granted to Kenilworth Priory by the younger Geoffrey de Clinton about the middle of the 12th century. [...] The church [...] built in the latter part of the 13th century [...] has been much altered in modern times [...] Opposite the north door is a modern stone font with an octagonal basin, having foliated panels on all sides, octagonal shaft, moulded base, and a circular basin lined with copper." English Heritage [Listing NGR: SP3744459997] (1987), which reports and octagonal modern font in this church, also lists a "Former Font Approximately 0.5 Metres West of Tower of Church of All Saints [...] Former font. Mid C18. Limestone ashlar. Square-section pedestal tapering to base, with moulded cornice. Small shallow bowl. Removed from inside the church." [NB: we have no information on the font from the Domesday-time church here].
