Church Notes: medieval church demolished; present church built 1870 just north of old site; renovated 1940, 1970, etc.
Noted and illustrated in Hallbäck (1959) as a baptismal font made of soapstone in the 13th century, of type unique to Dalsland; for a time it was replaced by a new font and relegated to a niche by the former north entranceway, but it was later restored to use in conjunction of a baptismal dish of silver. Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [http://medeltidbild.historiska.se/medeltidbild/visa/foremal.asp?objektid= 930712F5] [accessed 11 January 2015] as a soapstone baptismal of the "Dalslandsgruppen" made ca. 1200; it consists of a round basin with tapering sides decorated with a roll moulding at the upper rim, which is damaged, and a rope moulding at the lower edge; on a round pedestal base with a circulat splaying lower base. It is now raised on a wooden plinth. No cover present.
